Syracuse defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham is out for the 2024 season with a torn Achilles tendon, head football coach Fran Brown told the media following Monday’s practice.

Ingraham transferred to SU in December 2022, following four seasons at Alabama. He appeared in every game as a defensive tackle for the Orange in 2023, fortifying the interior of the unit.

After recording three tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in his Syracuse debut on Sept. 2 versus Colgate, Ingraham tallied 16 total tackles and two pass deflections. The red-shirt senior has an injury history, as he tore his lateral meniscus and ACL in 2021 before medically retiring. The transfer to Syracuse ahead of the 2023 season rejuvenated his collegiate career.

The loss of Ingraham limits the depth of the interior defensive line that has added transfer Dion Wilson Jr. to the mix in 2024.
