Syracuse has landed Christian Brothers Academy wide receiver Daunte Bacheyie in its 2025 recruiting class. Bacheyie announced on social media Wednesday that he has committed to the Orange after fielding interest from Boston College, Buffalo, Fordham and Pittsburgh.
After a lot of prayer and conversations with my family and coaches, I am very excited to announce that I am committed to Syracuse University. Thank you to my friends and everyone who supported me along the way! @FranBrownCuse @CoachNixon_Cuse @WRCoachmj @CuseFootball pic.twitter.com/KBhLZcNcWT

Bacheyie will join his CBA teammate Darien Williams — the top-ranked cornerback in New York State’s class of 2025 — at Syracuse as head coach Fran Brown continues to increase his local recruiting push. Per 247Sports, Williams was on campus this past weekend for an unofficial visit and attended SU’s spring game on April 20.
Standing 6-foot-5, 193 pounds, Bacheyie can line up at wide receiver and tight end, though he’s listed as a wide receiver by 247Sports. In the 2023 season at CBA, Bacheyie played in all 11 games totaling 19 receptions for 312 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. His performance helped CBA embark on an undefeated campaign and win the New York Class AA state title.
Bacheyie’s addition adds to a deep wide receiver recruiting class in 2025 for Syracuse. He’s among six wide receivers that Brown has signed, which includes three-star Terrell Wilfong and three-star Marcus Upton. Plus, with freshman Georgia transfer Zeed Haynes set to join SU’s roster in fall 2024, the Orange have gained significant youth in their receiving corps for the foreseeable future.
