Travis Scott to headline Block Party 2017

Travis Scott, the popular hip-hop artist from Houston — known for singles including "Antidote" and "goosebumps"— will be headlining this year's Block Party.

Hip-hop artist Travis Scott will headline Block Party 2017, University Union announced Friday.

Scott, who is known for singles including “Antidote” and “goosebumps,” will be joined by electronic musician ZHU and London electronic music duo AlunaGeorge at the annual concert on April 28 in the Carrier Dome. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Pre-sale tickets for the event will go on sale for full-time Syracuse University and State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry students starting Monday at noon until Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. SU or SUNY-ESF IDs are required for pre-sale ticket purchases, with a max of two tickets per ID. Tickets for the public will go on-sale beginning Thursday at noon.

The student ticket price will be $25 for general admission floor access and $20 for first, second and third level general admission. The general public price for tickets is $40. All tickets will be sold online via Ticketmaster.

Block Party follows Mayfest, a daylong event in Walnut Park. Mayfest’s headliner has yet to be announced by UU.



Scott’s sophomore album, “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” — which was released last year — debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The album garnered more than 500 million streams on Apple and more than 300 million streams on Spotify.

Past Block Party artists have included The Chainsmokers, Chance The Rapper and 50 Cent.
