Wales suffers season-ending injury against Pittsburgh
Syracuse tight end Beckett Wales will miss the rest of the season after suffering a season-ending, upper-body injury in Syracuse’s 17-16 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday, SU Athletics announced Wednesday.
Wales will undergo surgery performed by team physician Dr. Irving Raphael. The senior finishes the year with 10 receptions for 78 yards including a season-high three catches for 33 yards against the Panthers.
Redshirt freshman Josh Parris is expected to fill in for Wales. Parris, who has six catches for 43 yards, has seen an increased role in recent weeks.
