Shafer feels good about Eskridge, Gulley ‘progressing forward’
Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer provided a brief update on injured starting strong safety Durell Eskridge (upper body) and running back Prince-Tyson Gulley (ankle sprain) during his weekly teleconference Tuesday.
“Both of those guys are progressing forward and I feel good about it,” Shafer said.
Both players suffered the injuries in the first half of SU’s 20-3 victory over Maryland on Saturday. SU cornerback Julian Whigham said Eskridge’s injury is unrelated to the broken right ring finger that kept his hand in a cast through roughly half of the season.
Gulley left the game early on after only one carry.
