Dyshawn Davis is listed as day-to-day after suffering a right ankle sprain against North Carolina State on Saturday.

Dyshawn Davis is listed as day-to-day after spraining his right ankle against North Carolina State, SU head coach Scott Shafer said on his weekly teleconference on Tuesday.

“We’re looking at day-by-day with Dyshawn,” Shafer said. “We want to take it one day at a time to see where he’s at. We’ll look at him Thursday and make our decision then.”

Davis re-aggravated the ankle late in the first half against the Wolfpack and missed the remainder of the game. He was still wearing a boot on Monday for the injury Shafer said has been nagging him since training camp.

Josh Kirkland, who filled in for Davis in the second half, will continue to see additional reps along with Marqez Hodge.

“We know that Kirkland and Luke Arciniega are two kids that have played and done a good job being supporting cast, but I also look forward to seeing Hodge be that guy because I think he’s on the brink,” Shafer said.

George Morris II will likely be doubtful for Syracuse’s game at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Shafer said. The running back missed SU’s 24-10 win against N.C. State last Saturday with an upper-body injury as Prince-Tyson Gulley filled in for him on kick returns.

“George will probably be doubtful this week,” Shafer said, “but he is getting better and we’re looking forward to his return.”
