Ginochetti trial : Case pushed to April 24th

Timothy J. Ginocchetti’s pretrial, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. today in Onondaga County Court, has been adjourned to April 24, said Annette Delgiorno, secretary to Judge Anthony Aloi, who is presiding over the case.

Defense lawyer Emil Rossi asked Aloi this week to adjourn the case to a later date, and Aloi rescheduled Ginocchetti’s pretrial for early next week, Delgiorno said.

Rossi could not be reached for comment.

Ginocchetti, senior civil engineering major, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his mother to death on Aug. 23.

Manlius police found the body of Pamela Ginocchetti inside the home at 11:30 p.m., after Ginocchetti called 911. During that call, Ginocchetti admitted to emergency dispatchers that he killed his mother, that she was covered in blood and that he was alone with her.

Pamela Ginocchetti was pronounced dead on site, and at the request of the police, Ginocchetti left the home and was taken into custody.
